Eastern Anatolia
High Plateaus Where History Began: The Deep and Intense Character of Öküzgözü.
The oldest archaeological evidence of winemaking roots is often linked to the wider region. It is defined by its extreme continental climate: short, hot summers, and very cold winters. The vineyards around Elazığ sit on rocky, iron-rich high plateaus. The wine culture is anchored by one magnificent Endemic Red: Öküzgözü (Bull's Eye), which yields deep-colored, complex, and age-worthy wines.
